The 17th International Communication Seminar (SEICOM) will take place from 10 to 12 November at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), in Porto Alegre, Brazil, with the option to participate online.
The event aims to promote debate on communication processes and practices, power relations and technologies, considering their social, political and cultural impacts, under the theme “Humans and Machines: Challenges for Democracy and Ethics”.
The call for extended abstracts is open until 14 September (abstracts must be no longer than 4,000 characters and comply with ABNT standards). Presentations of selected papers will take place on 11 and 12 November, both via Zoom and in person at the School of Communication, Arts and Design (Famecos/PUCRS).
The 17th SEICOM will feature lectures by international researchers: Edmond Doua, from Félix Houphouët-Boigny University in Côte d’Ivoire; Fabienne Brugère, from Paris 8 University in France; Letícia Cesarino, from the Federal University of Santa Catarina; and Giselle Beiguelman, from the University of São Paulo.
